Claim to fame- Hastings Harbour Arm jump

One of the most monumental points in my kitesurfing "career" was when I took the leap and jumped over Hastings harbour arm. I had been eyeing it up for a while, waiting for the perfect conditions. I sourced my dad as the videographer and got to work preparing myself mentally, I could jump much higher and further than the wall, but had never jumped towards anything quite so ominous and so so unbelievably solid, maybe my mum was right, maybe I shouldn't take the leap. Once I had done a few run-ups/ bailed attempts I committed and flew over the rocky sea defence, I could see my dad hiding down below. The stoke was unreal people were cheering, my heart was pounding and the queen even invited me for dinner, ok maybe not the last one. That week I became a bit of a local celebrity, the press shared my video and wrote about it in the local paper. Even to this day I get chatting with complete strangers and it turns out they had seen the video through their mum's best-friends cat. The most surreal, was when I was working out in Greece one week all of my students had seen the video... unreal.
